It seeks to determine the degree of acceptance in terms of texture, appearance, and packaging, as well as the overall satisfaction with the product, when the respondents were categorized based on age, sex, and address. It also attempts to determine the acceptability of blue salt in terms of flavor, aroma, texture, and appearance. A sample of the product was provided by the researcher to the respondents prior to them answering a survey questionnaire used for data gathering. The collected data were collated and subjected to statistical analysis. The experimental research design was used in this study through random sampling among the 100 respondents from different Barangays in Alaminos City. The findings of the study indicate that the manufacture of blue salt might be considered acceptable, as indicated by the respondents' preferences. The sensory evaluation focused on aroma, taste and texture with 200 Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students from Pangasinan State University – Alaminos City Campus serving as respondents. A 5-point Likert Scale was employed to assess sensory attributes, while Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to evaluate significant differences between and among the three formulations: 50%, 60%, and 75% goat’s milk content. The Cheesy Goat’s Milk Ice Cream received ratings ranging from highly acceptable to unacceptable across sensory attributes. Findings revealed no significant differences in aroma, taste and texture among the different formulations. The Cheesy Goat’s Milk Ice Cream, enriched with varying levels of goat’s milk, offers a nutritious dessert option with potential health benefits, including anti-inflammatory properties that may support individuals with chronic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, asthma, and allergies. Goat’s milk, rich in caseins, whey proteins, and immunoglobulins, contributes to the nutritional value of the ice cream, making it a promising alternative dairy product for health-conscious consumers.</p> Frences Marah Finez, Merjulyn Atiga, Shiela Mae Cuacoyes , Ralph Adriane Flores , Mark Alfred Mas Copyright (c) 2025 The International Journal of Education, Management and Social Sciences https://ijsemss.psu.edu.ph/index.php/1/article/view/88 Mon, 26 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 GOVERNMENT SPENDING ON EDUCATION AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX: THE CASE OF THE PHILIPPINES AND SINGAPORE https://ijsemss.psu.edu.ph/index.php/1/article/view/89 <p>This study examined the relationship between government spending on education and the Human Development Index (HDI) in the Philippines and Singapore over a 13-year period (2009–2021). Data from the World Bank, Trading Economics, and the United Nations Development Programme were analyzed using descriptive and regression analysis with the GNU Regression, Econometrics, and Time-Series Library software. Results showed that the Philippines had fluctuating education spending between 2010 and 2017, followed by a decline, while Singapore’s budget remained more stable, with a gradual increase around 2013, a slight decline, and stabilization between 2014 and 2018, followed by a modest rebound in 2021. Both countries showed an overall upward trend in HDI during the study period. Regression results confirmed a significant relationship between government spending on education and HDI in both countries. Beyond ensuring safe and efficient transportation, their professionalism significantly influences tourist satisfaction and the overall image of the destination. This research examines the current state of grooming and customer service training among boatmen, identifies challenges they encounter, and explores potential strategies for improvement. The study involved 126 selected students through random sampling using a fishbowl method and utilized a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative designs. Results indicated that the majority of the respondents were female and most of them were in their second year. The research findings, based on five perceived sources of academic pressure (teacher, family, financial, peer, and time), show that teacher expectations place the most academic pressure on student respondents, while peer factors contribute the least. It is also revealed that going out with friends helps students to lessen the pressure. Therefore, the study recommended that school administrators should initiate training for teachers on effective learning and assessment strategies to help reduce academic pressure and better align with students’ needs. It is also recommended that school-based seminars be conducted to educate students about academic pressure and equip them with coping techniques that align with the strategies they already find effective, such as social interaction.</p> Floren Chai Lorenzo, Ira Bugarin, Edjean Kaye Melu, Ma.
